Hiram Johnson High School

The mural depicts the march from Delano to Sacramento in 1966 led by Cesar Chavez & Larry Itliong and Chinese railroad workers completing the Transcontinental Railroad in 1869. 

This school has a largely Latinx & Asian student population I wanted to do a piece acknowledging the history of immigrant populations who’ve shaped and cultivated so much of California. I also painted a small landscape as a nod to the rolling rivers and hills surrounding Sacramento and the iconic painters who’ve loved them.
